Junior Reid
Junior Reid, born Delroy Reid, is a legendary Jamaican reggae and dancehall artist. He rose to prominence in the early 1980s, with hits like “Original Foreign Mind” and “Reggae Gone Cross the Border.”
Reid’s career reached new heights in the late 1980s when he became the lead singer of the iconic reggae group Black Uhuru. During his stint with the band, they released several acclaimed albums and received Grammy nominations.
After leaving Black Uhuru in 1989, Reid embarked on a successful solo career. His signature song, “One Blood,” became a global reggae anthem and was later sampled by The Game. Reid has also collaborated with other hip-hop artists like Mims.
Throughout his career, Junior Reid has remained a influential figure in reggae and dancehall. He continues to tour internationally and is widely respected as a musical icon.
