1989 was right in the pocket for this kind of digital dancehall pressure, and the Peanie Peanie riddim catches that moment nicely with a bright, taut swing that still leaves room for the bass to rumble. Shabba Ranks made the title cut the one everybody remembers, but the set also gets a strong turn from Cocoa Tea and Spragga Benz on “Lonesome Side, ” where the sweeter singing and tougher deejay style sit on top of the same slick groove without crowding it.
