Croakin’ Lizard Riddim has that early-2010s Summit Music Group feel: tough, no-nonsense dancehall, but with a little more room for melody and hooks than the bare-bones club scorchers they were churning out around the same time. The strongest pull here is the spread of voices across nine cuts, with Junior Reid’s “Who Can Help Us” bringing a rooted, pleading edge and Wayne Marshall’s “Peace Treaty” leaning into the title’s irony with a sharp, knowing tone. Delly Ranx and Assailant keep the energy on the harder side, while “Ladies In The Club” and “Woman Alone” give the riddim a slightly more social, dancefloor-minded tilt. Released around 2011/2012, it sits right in that period when dancehall was still riding rugged street tunes but making room for songs with a bit more crossover polish.
