    Corduroy Riddim produced by various music companies including, but not limited to; Hours International, Jr Productions, Ldc, Massive B, Little C, Pinecrest, Record Fact, Shelly Power, Shocking Vibes, Sony Wonder, Star Trail, Super Jam, Bigger Welch, Techniques, White House, Fashion, Colin Fat, Mastermind Rec, Champaigne, Chris Ii, Boomarang, Father Pow, Goldmine and God Bless Crew

    Corduroy arrived in 1994 as one of those dancehall jugglings that moved cleanly across sound-system circles and label lines, with Patrick Roberts and the Shocking Vibes crew at the center of the original cut. The rhythm later turned up through Father Pow, Shocking Vibes, Stone Love Movement and other imprint points, which helped it travel widely through the era’s 7-inch network.

    The sound is brisk, bright and percussive, with that mid-’90s digital snap that leaves plenty of room for patter, singjay hooks and cheeky slang. It has enough bounce for the dance, but enough grit to carry tougher voices. Admiral Bailey’s “Money” gives the riddim an early anchor, while Beenie Man’s “Blessed” and “World Dance” help lock in its party-forward energy. Buju Banton’s “Only In Your Life” brings a heavier edge, and Capleton’s “Tek It Off” pushes the tempo into a more militant, commanding lane. Baby Wayne’s “Foreign Pon Tour” and Captain Barkey’s “Puss” keep the juggling playful and streetwise.

    What makes Corduroy endure is the way it moved across camps without losing its character. Stone Love’s link gives it dancehall authority, Shocking Vibes puts a sharper Kingston polish on it, and the overall selection reflects the range of voices ruling the mid-’90s scene: Beenie Man’s exuberance, Buju’s weight, Capleton’s fire, Admiral Bailey’s veteran presence. It is a riddim that still sounds made for a packed dance, not a museum shelf.
