Richie Spice
Richell Bonner was born on 8 September 1971 in Rock Hall, St Andrew, Jamaica and he is a Jamaican Reggae artist of the Rastafari movement. He is brother to Pliers, Spanner Banner, and Snatcha Lion. His first Jamaica single titled ” Killing A Sound’ was produced by Dennis ‘Star’ Hayes followed by “Shine” which was produced by Clive Hunt. Hunt went on ahead to produce Bonner’s debut album titled “Out of the Blue” in 1996 on the Island Jamaica Label. The album featured Jah Cure and Maxi Priest and his first major hit, “Grooving my girl” came from here.
His second album had hits like “Earth a Run Red”, “Time So Rough” and others. Spice toured with the likes of Chaka Demus & Pliers and Rita Marley and he appeared on major shows like Reggae Sunsplash, Rebel Salute, White River RFeggae Bash, and others. He toured East North America in 2001 and performed at Sting in St Catherine (2002) and Sting Miami (2003).. In 2007, whilst signed to VP Records, he issued “In the Streets Of Africa” which featured the Bobby Konders produced single, “Youth Dem Cold”. He dropped his second album on VP Records in 2008 and in 2012 he released his acoustic album “Soothing Sounds”.
