Ba! Ba! Bum Riddim – Mr G Music

Mr G Music’s Ba Ba Bum Riddim landed in March 2014 as a digital release and, true to the producer’s name, it came with a heavy dose of veteran dancehall authority. Mr. G, better known as Goofy, is Chad Simpson from Jones Town, Kingston, and by the time this riddim dropped he was already an established voice and behind-the-scenes hitmaker with a long track record in Jamaican music.

The riddim itself has that hard, propulsive mid-tempo bounce that sits comfortably between roots pressure and dancehall swagger. It’s the kind of cut that leaves room for big melodies and stern talk, with the bassline doing a lot of the talking underneath.
