Real Rock Return Riddim – Stone Love Music

Stone Love took one of reggae’s most durable foundations and gave it a fresh 2005 spin with Real Rock Return, a 24-cut set that leans more rootsy and conscious than the harder-edged juggling people often associate with the sound system. Anthony B comes in with the roadwise rush of “Out A Road, ” while Bounty Killer’s “Roots Reality” and Chuck Fender’s “Rasta” keep the tone grounded in big-voice reasoning rather than throwaway dancefloor chatter. Elephant Man’s “Chapter A Day” is the curveball, pushing the old rhythm into his own sharper style, and Da’Ville’s “Tell Me Again” adds a smoother, more melodic touch. The whole thing is built as a version of the classic Real Rock riddim, which makes the timing matter too: this wasn’t nostalgia for its own sake, but Stone Love revisiting a foundation and packing it with current voices in the middle of 2005.
