Jah Warrior’s Drifter Riddim sits a little outside the label’s usual dub-heavy lane, leaning more into a crisp roots-rub-a-dub feel that lets the vocals do the lifting. Michael Rose’s “Righteous” is the anchor here, all smooth authority and easy sway, while Lutan Fyah’s “Crab In A Barrel” pushes the same rhythm with a sharper, more conscious edge. Ranking Joe’s “Drifter In A Rub A Dub Style” keeps the whole thing honest, sounding like it was cut with sound system dances in mind rather than polished for gloss. The rhythm first surfaced on 7-inch around 2004 and then turned up as a small four-track set in 2005, which fits Jah Warrior’s way of stretching one strong cut into a proper selector’s piece.
