That family connection matters: Richie Spice, Spanner Banner and Snatcha Lion are all part of the Bonner line, and the label’s catalogue has long paired roots-minded singing with message music and family-linked collaborations.

The riddim itself is built on a live-sounding foundation from drummer Kirk Bennett, with a steady one-drop pulse, nyabinghi touches and a warm, organic feel rather than anything flashy or synthetic.
