Marlon Ricardo Williams, born in 1982 in Kingston, Jamaica, is a reggae and dancehall recording artist. Williams’ music career began in 1994 during his studies in Miami, USA. He performed with legends such as Shabba Ranks, Spragga Benz, and Bounty Killer. In 1999, Williams’ performed at a hangout spot called Cactus nightclub and the limelight was on him when he sang the future dancehall favorite, ‘It’s Major, It’s Minor.’ The same year he released his first single titled “Got It Goin” on the VP Records. Williams’ career got better and stronger when he recorded some hits with various Jamaica-based producers including Colin ‘Bulby’ York, Sly And Robbie, and Anthony Red Rose. His performances at the annual festivals, Sumfest, Fully-Loaded, and Sting caused him to accentuate his status as one of the leaders of the well-known Shocking Vibes crew. Songs such as, “Say My Name”, “Like We Do”, “Perfect Lady”, “Johnny”, “Pass Dem Remarks” “Dignitary”, and “Give Thanks”, swiftly made it to the Jamaican charts. Some of his music videos feature legends like Vybz Kartel like the popular number “Phone Call” done in 2013, “Them Say Dem Love You” done in 2017, just to mention a few. Williams is a well-known DJ for his creativity, he has a lot of songs on riddims toasted or sung, eg on the Applause riddim, Good To Go riddim, Martial Arts riddim or the Egyptian riddim. His dynamic approach to riddim creativity abilities is taking his career very far.
