Autoban Riddim – Lockecity Music

Lockecity Music was already a familiar name in the dancehall juggling lane when Autoban Riddim landed in 2015, the kind of producer banner associated with clean, forward-driving rhythms and sound-system-ready bass. The label is tied to Adrian Locke, who came up through Truck Back Records before pushing his own Lockecity imprint into the market.

Autoban has that hard, late-night dancehall snap: punchy drums, a propulsive low end, and enough open space for the vocals to cut through without the riddim getting muddy. It is the sort of juggle that leaves room for both radio-friendly phrasing and raw, street-facing versions, which is why the set was issued with clean and explicit takes across the board.

The voice list is strong. Beenie Man brings the veteran authority on “Hold Him, ” while Bounty Killer, joined by Iyara and Mr Peppa, gives “Go Hard” the kind of rough-edged energy that fits his name and history. Konshens supplies the sharper, more melodic side of the release with “You Make Me, ” and D’Angel adds a female perspective on “Nah Lef, ” keeping the riddim from tilting too far into pure badness. Bling Dawg’s “No Stress” sits comfortably in the middle, delivering the kind of rugged party talk he has long been known for, and K Queens’ “Stress Over Man” gives the project a relationship tune with attitude.

Released in February 2015, Autoban Riddim sits neatly in Lockecity’s catalogue as a compact, modern dancehall set: heavy enough for selectors, catchy enough for replay, and anchored by artists who know how to make one riddim carry different moods.
