White Liva Riddim – 2 Bad Production

White Liva arrived in 2002 from Richard “Richie D” Martin, the Jamaican producer behind 2 Bad Production, with a set that sat right in the thick of the early-2000s dancehall juggling era. It later surfaced on VP’s Riddim Driven series, which helps explain why the riddim kept travelling beyond the original local run.

The groove is bright and slippery rather than heavy, driven by a clean, bouncing drum pattern and a nagging keyboard figure that leaves plenty of room for voice and personality. It has that early-2000s club feel: quick-footed, playful, and built for artists to jab, flirt, and flex without crowding the pocket. The energy is more party smoke than hard-knuckle street anthem, though there is enough edge in the rhythm to keep it from sounding sugary.

The strongest cuts come from the names that could turn any riddim into a statement piece. Elephant Man’s “When Nature Calls” plays into his wild, high-voltage delivery.
