Leonard Bartley, born on 1 July 1971, in Clarendon, Jamaica, is a ragga and dancehall artist. He discovered achievement in performing with sound systems. In 1994, he landed his recording debut “Lend Out Mi Mercy” which was a smashing hit and in addition, he made more singles that made waves such as “Mavis”, which was the top reggae track in 1995 all over Jamaica and the same riddim was used as “Mr. Boombastic” by Shaggy. Like other talented dancehall stars, he adopted amazing melodious content in the late 1990s. His style is comparable in sound to legendary Bounty Killer. He spent a complete14 months in a prison in Florida during the late 2000s. Merciless is also called “Warhead”, and he has participated in a good number of prominent on-stage ‘battles’ in the late 1990s and 2000s with other DJs like Ninjaman, Beenie-Man and Bounty Killer. At a point, Merciless and Bounty Killer recorded together despite their differences. The song was titled ” No One Cares” and it was released in the year 2000. The Super Movie Star riddim album was released in 2018 and it had amazing collaborations of various artists including Merciless himself. He has also has done some really good music videos over the years. Merciless’s music is still relevant even today.
