With its thick, marching dancehall pulse and a little bit of rattling swagger in the drums, Chiney K Riddim lands right in that 2007 Big Ship pocket where street-ready energy met sharp studio discipline. The lineup leans heavily toward hard-edged singjay and deejay cuts, but there’s enough variety to keep it moving: Aidonia comes in twice, Anthony B cools things down with his smoother approach, and Elephant Man pushes the tempo back up with pure hype on “Shake Up Yuh Booty. ” Big Ship’s Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor was already shaping a lot of the era’s crossover dancehall sound, and this rhythm sits comfortably inside that run.
