Tenement Yard Riddim landed in 2012 from Di Genius Productions, the imprint of Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor, who had already established himself as one of the sharpest dancehall producers of his generation. His work has long sat at the crossroads of hardcore street energy and clean, radio-ready polish, and this juggling fits that lane neatly. The riddim pulls its name from the old Jacob Miller classic, but the 2012 version is a modern dancehall cut with a clipped, rolling swing and a dark, urgent pulse that leaves plenty of space for deejay cadences.

The lineup reads like a snapshot of the era’s elite and rising names: Agent Sasco, Aidonia, Anthony B, Beenie Man, Bramma, Chino, I Octane, Laden, Mavado, Serani, Singing Sweet and T. O. K.
