Ishawna

Ishwana was born on 29 September 1986 in Kingston, Jamaica. She is daughter to Don Angelo who was a singer and who worked with the legendary 80s producer, King Jammy. At the age of 6, Ishawna wrote her first song and at the age of 8 she recorded her first track. She grew up between Seaview Gardens, Kingston and Brooklyn, New York. Ishawna returned to Kingston from New York in 2005 and she met producer and sound system operator Foota Hype who helped her perform across Jamaica. After performing in Kingston’s Asylum night club in 2006, Bounty Killer was impressed and she requested that Ishawna becomes the first lady of his Alliance Crew. In 2008, Ishawna collaborated with Demarco in the track “For You”. She went on to record 2 hit tracks with Elephant Man.

Ishwana went on to work with producer Safaree Samuels to create singles like “Vroom Vroom”, “Oola La La” and “Cheerful Giver” and she appeared on stage at a number of Jamaican Festivals including the famous Reggae Sumfest. One of her famous singles is titled “Legendary” which was recorded on the Badda Don Riddim. She worked with the support of Jam2 Records, Baby G, Foota Hype, Don Corleon and Hot 97.
