AFTER HOURS RIDDIM produced by UPT700 RECORDS 2009
After Hours Overview
In 2009, dancehall was full of energy and bold new sounds. The bashment flow was strong in Jamaica and beyond. During this time, UPT700 RECORDS became known for releasing dancehall riddims that got a lot of attention. The label built a reputation for sharp production and street credibility. Their projects often gained big streaming numbers and were played by many selectors in parties and on radio. The After Hours Riddim became a favorite in dancehall circles soon after it dropped. It featured several standout artists, each bringing their own style to the riddim. Champagne’s track, “Touch Me Pleez,” showed his smooth delivery and catchy hooks. Charly Black, who would later become famous for his international hit “Gyal You a Party Animal,” delivered “Chat Patois” on this riddim, showing his early talent and strong voice. Ice Cold brought energy with “Bubble It,” a song that fit perfectly with the high-tempo dancehall vibe of the time. Pamputae, known for her bold lyrics and presence in dancehall, gave fans “G Inna Good,” adding her unique flair to the project. Tony Matterhorn, already known for his worldwide hit “Dutty Wine,” contributed “Gwaan So,” keeping the party spirit alive. The After Hours Riddim and its songs captured the feeling of 2009 bashment parties. Even years later, the tracks remind fans of that special time in dancehall music, when the bashment flow was at its best.
