Out of Jamaica’s early-2010s dancehall shuffle comes Love Fling Riddim, a slim four-track set from After Hours Records that leans more on sly bedroom talk than big bashment noise. Andre Felix’s “Whispers” and Don Andre’s “Come Inna Mi Room” do most of the heavy lifting, with Mr Bryce’s “Try” adding a rougher edge before the version closes it out cleanly. The rhythm has that compact, late-night pulse you’d expect from a 2011 digital cut: tight drums, enough space for the vocals to breathe, and no wasted motion. Compared with the harder After Hours material that followed, this one feels a little more flirtatious and less confrontational, which is exactly why it still sits neatly in the label’s catalogue.
