Heatwave Riddim – After Hours Records

After Hours Records usually turns up in the 2011 dancehall lane with a fairly stripped, road-ready approach, and Heatwave keeps that energy tight but a little more playful, with a dry, skittering rhythm and enough low-end punch to carry the vocal cuts. Arrow Kan’s “Mash Up D Musiq (Them Youths Yah)” sets the tone with a sharp, agitated delivery, while Don’T Play’s “Buss Inna Mi Head” leans into the same hard-edged pulse without crowding the riddim. Propally gets two passes at “Unruly, ” and the second mix feels like the cleaner, more locked-in take. Tajji’s “Wah Happen To Dem” closes things out on the right note, leaving the instrumental space to breathe and showing how well this one works as a lean five-track session.
