Tambourine Riddim – Cliff Ray Productions 2009
Tambourine Overview
In 2009, the bashment rhythm called Tambourine played loud through sound systems at parties across Jamaica. This rhythm, made by Cliff Ray Productions, mixed the strong beat of dancehall with sounds from other genres. You could hear a little bit of hip hop, pop, and even R&B in the background. This made the rhythm feel new and different from older dancehall styles. Mr Vegas brought his energy to the track "Up Deh." Mr Vegas is well known for his hit "Heads High," which was a big success in the late 1990s and helped him reach fans all over the world. On the Tambourine rhythm, he kept his lively style, making people want to dance. Daville teamed up with Maestro for "Glory Dance." Daville is known for his smooth voice and has worked with artists like Sean Paul before. The song "Glory Dance" brought a softer touch to the rhythm, blending singing and deejaying in a fresh way. Lady Saw, known as the Queen of Dancehall, gave us "Praise Him." She was the first female deejay to win a Grammy Award, which she earned for her work on the song "Underneath It All" with No Doubt. On this rhythm, she mixed her strong voice with a message of thanks. The studio hand played a big part, making sure every sound was clear and sharp. Fans loved hearing the selector’s mix at every party in 2009, as the Tambourine rhythm brought everyone together on the dancefloor.
