TABIA RIDDIM PT 2 – A.L.T.A.F.A.N 2016
Tabia Overview
Tabia Riddim is a reggae rhythm project from Jamaica that brought fresh energy to the 2016 reggae scene. The riddim was built with a strong foundation in classic reggae, but it also sounded modern and lively. Several talented artists recorded songs on Tabia Riddim, each adding their own style and voice. Althea Hewitt delivered “My Joy,” giving the riddim a soulful and uplifting touch. Anthony Cruz, known for his hit song “Halfway Tree,” performed “Hit Me Up” on this project. Anthony Senior, who has worked as a producer and artist in reggae, contributed the title track “Tabia Riddim.” Bob Andy, a legendary reggae singer and songwriter famous for classics like “Too Experienced,” added his song “You Turn Me On.” Cornadoor, a reggae artist from Germany, shared his message in “Same Old Struggles.” The cultural arranger for Tabia Riddim made sure each song fit well with the classic reggae sound, while also keeping it fresh for new listeners. The recording was played in many cultural sets in 2016, reaching both radio and sound system audiences. Tabia Riddim stands out as a project that respected reggae’s roots but also moved the music forward, bringing together artists from different backgrounds for a strong cultural release.
