In 2013, the bashment flow was everywhere in dancehall. Bashment, with its heavy bass and fast riddims, gave selectors fresh fire for dancehall nights. That year, BASSRUNNER MUSIC dropped the Shack Riddim, which quickly became a favorite in the scene. BASSRUNNER MUSIC is a label known for its modern dancehall productions. Based in Austria, they have worked with artists from Jamaica, Europe, and beyond. Their riddims often get played by top selectors and sound systems around the world. On the Shack Riddim, several artists stood out. New Kingston brought “Boom Boom,” a track full of energy. New Kingston is a reggae band from Brooklyn, known for blending roots reggae with modern sounds. Ziggi Recado delivered “Cant Cool.” Ziggi Recado, from the Netherlands, is known for his album “Ziggi Recado” and has worked with Gentleman and Tarrus Riley. Barrington came in strong with “Car Back.” Barrington is best known for his classic hit “Shine Eye Girl” with The Roots Radics. Million Stylez, who is famous for his international hit “Miss Fatty,” dropped “Chatty Mouth” on this riddim. Gappy Ranks, known for his song “Heaven In Her Eyes,” added “Dancehall Original.” Etzia, a Swedish reggae artist, rounded out the set with “Tease Me.” The Shack Riddim stood tall among the heavy bashment drops of 2013.
