Moonshine Riddim – Bassrunner Music

Moonshine Riddim leans into a bright, easy-swaying reggae feel with a touch of lovers rock polish, and Bassrunner Music keeps the arrangement open enough for the vocal cuts to do the talking. Da’Ville’s “Call Me Anytime” and Million Stylez’ “Without You” are the immediate pulls here, while RC’s “Blessings A Rain” and the Ronny Trettmann/Stereo Luchs link-up give the set its international edge. Luke Rich’s instrumental closes the circle cleanly, and that matters because this was very much a producer’s showcase rather than a loose singles pile. Compared with some of Bassrunner’s tougher dancehall work, Moonshine sits in a softer, more melodic pocket, but it still carries the same European precision that defined the label’s early catalogue.
