Juicy Overview
In the early 2000s, dancehall music was changing fast. Clubs and sound systems wanted fresh energy for the dancefloor. That’s when the Juicy Riddim arrived, bringing a powerful, club-ready sound that selectors loved to play at parties. The riddim was released by VP RECORDS, a label with a long history in reggae and dancehall. Founded in Jamaica and now based in New York, VP RECORDS is known for bringing top Caribbean music to the world, with many classic albums and big-name artists under their belt. The Juicy Riddim featured some of dancehall’s most respected names. George Nooks & Bounty Killer teamed up for “Party Vibes,” a song that quickly became a favorite for its high energy and catchy lyrics. Tanto Metro & Devonte delivered “So Fine,” adding their smooth style to the riddim’s upbeat groove. O.K brought “Your Smile,” while Sanchez, famous for his soulful voice, contributed “Her Love.” Bunji Garlin, known for his powerful soca and dancehall tracks, gave fans “No Heathen.” Other artists also made their mark. Prince Mydas performed “Make Her Love Me,” Carl Henry sang “Homies Girl,” and Lukie D gave us “When You Smile.” Brian & Tony Gold, a well-known duo, brought “Champion,” and Sasha added “Love Shouldn’t.” With its strong lineup and infectious rhythm, the Juicy Riddim became a key part of dancehall parties and radio playlists.
