Pound A Sugar Riddim produced by Biggimani Music 2009
Pound A Sugar Overview
In 2009, the bashment project called Pound A Sugar Riddim started making noise at night parties across Jamaica. This riddim quickly became a favourite for selectors and dancers alike. The project brought together some of dancehall’s top names. Richie Stephens gave fans “The More I Get,” showing off the same strong vocals that made his song “Winner” a classic in reggae circles. Cecile, known for her international hit “Can You Do the Work” with Sean Paul, added her own style with “If You Really Want Me.” Voicemail, the group famous for their dance anthems like “Wacky Dip,” got people moving with “Wine And Bruck Out.” Vegas, who once topped charts with “Heads High,” delivered the song “Haters.” Kip Rich, known for his witty lyrics and writing hits for other artists, came with “Bad Mind.” Each artist brought their own energy, making the riddim a real bashment highlight. Behind the scenes was Biggimani Music, a label known for producing some of the most memorable dancehall riddims in the late 2000s. Biggimani Music’s work kept the sound fresh and the vibes strong, helping the riddim stand out in a busy year for dancehall. Even today, selectors still rate Pound A Sugar Riddim as one of the top bashment releases from 2009. The songs and the energy continue to light up dancehall sessions.
