MAPS RIDDIM produced by BLUEROOM STUDIOS 2017
Maps Overview
In 2017, a new reggae sound began to take shape at BLUEROOM STUDIOS. This studio, known for its focus on authentic dub and roots reggae, became the foundation for a fresh riddim. The producer wanted to give young singers a chance to express themselves, so the Maps Riddim was born. The studio had already built a reputation for supporting conscious reggae music, and this project continued that tradition. The creation of the riddim started with a simple, soulful rhythm. Musicians layered guitar, bass, and drums to create a groove that felt both modern and rooted in classic reggae. Once the track was ready, the producer invited three rising artists to record their voices over the instrumental. Ziggy Ranking brought his song "Stalker" to the riddim. He was already known for his sharp lyrics and had made a name for himself in the reggae scene with songs that spoke about real-life issues. Bass Aka Trilo delivered "G - Build It," adding his unique style and strong messages. Fireball completed the trio with "I Feel It Coming," bringing energy and emotion to the project. Each artist used the Maps Riddim to share their own stories, creating songs that connected with listeners. When the release came out, it quickly became a favorite among reggae fans. The recording is still remembered as a key part of reggae’s story in 2017, showing how new voices and classic production can come together to make something special.
