IN THE GHETTO RIDDIM produced by JAH MIKEY ONE/ZE ST DUB PRODUCTIONS 2017
In The Ghetto Overview
In 2017, the “In The Ghetto Riddim” came to life in the studio with a strong one drop base. The one drop rhythm, known for its deep, steady drum beat, gave the riddim a conscious and rootsy sound. The roots craftsman behind the project wanted to keep the classic reggae feeling, making sure the music stayed true to its Jamaican roots. JAH MIKEY ONE, working with ZE ST DUB PRODUCTIONS, led the production. JAH MIKEY ONE is known for his work with roots reggae and has helped produce several respected projects in the genre. ZE ST DUB PRODUCTIONS has a reputation for supporting authentic reggae releases and bringing together talented artists. The riddim featured a lineup of well-known reggae voices. Sizzla brought his powerful delivery to “Genuine Woman.” Sizzla is famous for his album “Da Real Thing,” which is considered a classic in reggae music. Little John, a veteran from the early dancehall era, gave us “In The Ghetto.” His long career includes hits like “Clarks Booty.” Pressure, known for his hit “Love and Affection,” added “Sensi” to the mix.
