Kris Kelli’s “Flip Up” gives the Stanpipe Riddim its sharpest hook, with Lenn Hammond’s “Put It On” and Yogie’s “Living” keeping the energy moving across Fi Wi Music’s 2004 four-track set. It’s a compact piece of mid-2000s reggae production, more in the spirit of clean, song-first juggling than the heavier, harder-edged dancehall Fi Wi would later be associated with on some of its other rhythm projects. That makes Stanpipe feel like a snapshot of the label settling into its lane: a lean instrumental, three vocal cuts, and no wasted space. Kris Kelli gets the flashiest turn, but Hammond and Yogie give the riddim its depth, and the version cut leaves the groove open enough to hear the arrangement breathe.
