With more than a dozen cuts on the board, Static Riddim feels like one of those early-2000s dancehall juggling sessions where the selector gets spoiled for choice. Rainbow Castle lined up heavy hitters like Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Vybz Kartel, Lady Saw and Junior Kelly, and the project keeps that raw party energy running through the whole set. Beenie Man’s “H2 Hummer” and Elephant Man’s “Cock Yu Rump Up” are the obvious flashpoints, while Lady Saw and Major Sample’s “Money Man” and Anthony Cruz’s “Girl It’s On” bring a slicker, more melodic edge to the same rhythm.
