Crazy Glue Riddim – DJ Frass Records

DJ Frass Records lined up Crazy Glue Riddim in 2017 as one of those modern dancehall juggling projects that moves between swagger, flirtation, and straight-up street talk without losing its bounce. Andre Gordon, better known as DJ Frass, has long been one of Kingston’s most dependable production hands, and by this point his name was already attached to major dancehall moments and a catalogue of artist-driven releases that travelled well beyond Jamaica.

Crazy Glue rides a sharp, digital dancehall pulse with a clipped percussion pattern, tense low-end, and enough space for each vocalist to cut through cleanly. It has that quick, springy feel that works both for radio and for the sound system, and the clean/raw split on some cuts shows it was aimed at real dancehall circulation rather than a one-off album drop.

The biggest pull here is the collision of styles. Alkaline and Sean Paul link up on “Gyalis Pro, ” a confident anthem built for the player-man crowd, while Mavado’s “Touch and Leggo” brings his darker, more commanding tone into the juggling. Jahmiel’s “What Love Is” gives the set a more melodic edge, and Shenseea’s “Nothing Dem Kno Have Ova Me” adds the kind of bold, self-assured female voice that made her an early standout. Charly Black’s “Compliments” and GC featuring Shaggy on “Nah Nah Who” widen the range even further, so the riddim never settles into one mood for too long.
