Junior Kelly

Keith Morgan was 23 September 1969 in Waltham Park area in Kingston Jamaica. He was part of a musical family, with both his father and grandfather playing banjo and his mother singing in church. He was the youngest of 5 children and he was educated at St Catherine High School. Morgan was the young brother to DJ Jim Kelly and after his brother dies he started working under the name Junior Kelly. He made his first recording “Over Her Body” was in 1985. In the 1990s he released a string of singles  including his hit single “Go To Hell” which was later banned from the airwaves.

In 1993, Morgan made his second release “Give Them A Bly” and after that he recorded a couple of hits which included “Jah Jah Live On”, “Clean Heart”, “God Bless”, “One Day” and “Can’t Get Away”. In 1999 he recorded “If love So Nice” which led to an album titled “Rise” which was recorded in the UK with Mafia & Fluxy. In 2003 Morgan featured on singer/songwriter and producer Emmanuel Anebsa’s song “Life Is So Confusing”. Morgan’s second album for VP Records was the self-produced “Smile which was released in 2003. In 2005 he released the album “Tough Life” which features a duet with June Lodge on the track “Love You Like That”. The album also featured the song “Rasta Should Be Deeper”. In 2010 the album Red Pound was released and it featured artists like Lukie D and Queen Ifrica. In 2015 the album “Urban Poet” came and it was followed by a tour of Europe and the Caribbean.
