The Mission Riddim – Yard Vybz Entertainment

Already in the pocket of 2008, The Mission Riddim keeps a tight three-voice run from Damian Marley and Stephen Marley’s “The Mission” through Mavado’s “Im On The Rock” and Elephant Man’s “Fed Up, ” with the instrumental version closing it out. The production comes through under Yard Vybz Entertainment, and the cut has that lean, militant reggae feel that suits Damian and Stephen’s harmonies while still leaving room for Mavado’s harder edge and Elephant Man’s sharper delivery. It’s a short set, but the sequencing makes sense: the Marley track opens the door, Mavado pushes the mood darker, and Elephant Man snaps it back into dancehall territory. The release contains four tracks in all, including the version.
