New Heaven Riddim – Raggattack Productions

Down in 2008, New Heaven Riddim caught that cross-Atlantic reggae traffic feeling, with artists from Italy, Jamaica, Spain and the UK all cutting their own corner on Raggattack Productions’ rhythm. Jamafrica’s “Stop Corruption” gives the set a sharper edge, while Nyah Rebel’s “Dancehall Nice” and Kojo Neatness’ “She’s Gone Away” keep it rooted in the singjay-and-lovers mix that was moving through a lot of European reggae sessions at the time. Hektor Banton’s “Me Levantan” adds a Spanish-language twist that fits the release’s easy international spread, and the whole thing runs lean with six tunes, no filler, just a compact little snapshot of that era. Tiny details like that made this one easy to file away.
