Jamaica’s 2010 dancehall circuit was full of those sharp, brash juggling rhythms, and Badda Don sat right in that lane with Yard Vybz Entertainment behind the boards. The version cut opens the set, then it runs straight through eight voices, from Bling Dawg’s “Next Level” and Gyptian’s “Watch Gyal” to I-Octane’s “Weed We Say, ” Wayne Marshall’s “Careless, ” and ZJ Liquid’s “Some Gyal. ” The riddim was also handled under the Baby G umbrella, and that gives it a gritty, street-level feel rather than anything polished or glossy.
