SPANISH TOWN RIDDIM- VARIOUS ARTISTS 2007
Spanish Town Overview
Spanish Town Riddim arrived in 2007 and quickly became a favorite on dancehall dance floors. The riddim was created by Jam 2, a well-known Jamaican producer and the son of King Jammy, one of dancehall’s most influential figures. Jam 2 brought his own style to the project, blending classic dancehall energy with new sounds that made the riddim stand out. This set features some of dancehall’s most respected artists. Bounty Killa, known for his powerful voice and commanding stage presence, delivers “Mi Nuh Tek It Back.” Bounty Killa has been a key figure in dancehall for decades, with hits like “Look” and a Grammy win for his work with No Doubt on “Hey Baby.” Merciless, another big name in Jamaican music, brings his unique style to “Fuck Off.” Merciless is famous for his lyrical battles and energetic performances, making his track a highlight on the riddim. Vybez Kartel & Angel team up for “This Pony,” showing a different side of the dancehall sound. Vybz Kartel, also featured solo with “Spice,” is one of the genre’s most successful artists. His 2016 album “King of the Dancehall” and hits like “Fever” have made him a global name. Spanish Town Riddim is a true snapshot of 2007’s dancehall fire, bringing together top talent and memorable tracks that still move crowds.
