Rough Life Overview

The Rough Life Riddim, released in 1998, brought a strong lineup of tracks that made a big mark on dancehall. The project featured Beenie Man with "Got It Going On," Little Chris with "Good Engineer," Mr Vegas & Mad Cobra teaming up for "Guns High," and Roundhead with "Highgrade A Do It." Each song added a unique flavor to the riddim, giving selectors plenty of fresh energy for dancehall nights. Beenie Man’s "Got It Going On" was a standout. By this time, Beenie Man was already known for hits like "Who Am I (Sim Simma)," which reached the UK Top 10 in 1998. His presence brought extra attention to the project. Little Chris’s "Good Engineer" added a youthful voice, while the collaboration between Mr Vegas & Mad Cobra on "Guns High" delivered a powerful anthem. Mr Vegas was riding high after his breakout hit "Heads High," which also came out in 1998 and reached international charts.
