ROSEMARY RIDDIM produced by DIGITAL B PRODUCTION 2012
Rosemary Overview
In 2012, a new roots reggae instrumental began its journey in the studios of DIGITAL B PRODUCTION. Known for shaping the sound of modern reggae, DIGITAL B PRODUCTION has played a key role in the careers of many Jamaican artists since the late 1980s. The label, founded by Bobby Digital, is famous for classic riddims like "Stagalag" and for working with artists such as Shabba Ranks and Sizzla. With this experience, the team set out to blend deep roots tradition with a fresh approach. The result was a roots anthology that soon became a staple in roots sessions. The instrumental’s warm bass, steady drums, and gentle keys gave it a timeless feel. It was crafted with care, respecting the old while welcoming the new. Three artists brought their voices to this project. Assassin (Agent Sasco) delivered "Nuh Jus A Come," bringing his sharp lyrics and unmistakable energy. Assassin, also known as Agent Sasco, is respected for his versatility and is known for his feature on Kanye West's "I'm In It." Tarrus Riley and Collis Duranty joined forces for "Keep On Working." Tarrus Riley is well-known for his hit song "She's Royal" and has won multiple awards, making him a leading voice in roots reggae. Together with Collis Duranty, their song added hope and encouragement to the riddim. Looking back, this roots instrumental helped carry reggae’s message in 2012. It showed how the genre could honor its roots and still sound new, guided by skilled hands and voices.
