In 2022, a new yard session tape gave several young artists their first big break in dancehall. The journey began in a small Kingston studio, where the beat for the Rampage Riddim was crafted. The sound engineer, known for his sharp ear and crisp mixes, worked late into the night, layering drums and bass to capture the raw energy of the streets. The result was a riddim that felt both classic and fresh. GUTTY BLING RECORDS, working alongside CLAIMS RECORDS, took the beat to the next level. The label, already respected for pushing new talent and producing hits like the Rampage Riddim, saw the potential for a true dancehall moment. Their history of championing young voices and delivering high-energy tracks made them the perfect team for this project. The artists brought their own fire to the session. Tommy Lee Sparta, famous for his dark, hypnotic style and known for tracks like Code, delivered a performance that stood out. I Waata, who had been building a name with songs like Killa, brought sharp lyrics and energy. Intence, already a well-known voice with hits like Nuh Bad Like We, added his signature intensity. 21Law dropped Rampage, while Champagnie kept the momentum with Nuh Test. Darmain Stiile’s Bung Bang, Banging’s Bup, and Tremma Muzik’s Fire Pon Fire rounded out the lineup. Even today, the Rampage Riddim brings back the vibe of 2022 yard sessions—where big dreams, heavy bass, and sharp lyrics came together for a new chapter in dancehall.
