One Pot Overview
In 2017, the roots reggae scene welcomed a new riddim called One Pot Riddim, produced by PLYCITY. This project stood out for its deep basslines and conscious lyrics, quickly finding a place in reggae playlists around the world. PLYCITY, the producer behind the riddim, is known for working with a range of reggae artists and for building his label, Plycity Records, which has released several roots and dancehall projects. The One Pot Riddim brought together several talented artists. Anthony Q contributed the track Nuh Affi Rich, adding his unique voice to the project. Anthony Q is recognized in the reggae community, especially for his song "Time" which gained popularity in Jamaica and abroad. Clarity delivered the song Why, bringing thoughtful lyrics and a smooth style. Livi performed Fight Mi Out, continuing his journey in reggae music with a message of resilience. Spechinal added Fly To Jah, a song that reflects spiritual themes common in roots reggae. Tiquila joined the project with Holding On, showing her vocal strength and deep connection to reggae rhythms. Each artist brought their own style, but all shared a focus on lyrics that speak about life, struggle, and hope. The project also included songs by Chyna Nicole (Jah Jah Is Love) and I Queen (Money Love), adding more voices and perspectives to the riddim. Even years later, One Pot Riddim remains an important part of reggae’s history from 2017, remembered for its authentic sound and meaningful collaborations.
