Mud Up Overview
In the early 2000s, the bashment flow was at the heart of Jamaican street dances. This style, with its heavy bass and fast rhythms, made people move and brought new energy to dancehall music. In 2001, the Mud Up Riddim became a key part of this scene. Top artists voiced their tracks on this riddim. Capleton, known for his hit "Tour," delivered "Hands Off," bringing his fiery style. Ward 21, a group famous for their creative production and the song "Pick," added a sharp edge. Lexxus, who later changed his name to Mr Lexx, brought his dancehall charisma with "Tug It Out." Merciless, remembered for his lyrical clashes and the song "War Medley," gave fans his bold delivery. Mr Vegas, who had international success with "Heads High," showed his skill on "Stop Man Food" and "Call Di Hearse." The Mud Up Riddim was produced by IN THE STREETZ. This label is known for its Greensleeves Rhythm Album series, which has released some of dancehall’s most popular riddims.
