The Mix Up Riddim brought a lively, upbeat sound to dancehall in 2011. Its bright melodies and powerful energy made it popular in parties and dances across Jamaica and beyond. The riddim has a playful mood, with quick drums and catchy hooks that keep people moving. Several artists gave their own style to the riddim. Baby Chris delivered “Gal Bruk Out,” a track full of excitement and dancefloor vibes. Gappy Ranks, known for his hit song “Heaven In Her Eyes,” added his smooth flow to “Ohhh Oh.” Khristopher’s “Search For You” showed a different side, mixing emotion with the riddim’s drive. New Kingston, a family band from Brooklyn, brought their reggae fusion style to “Waist Line.” Notch, who once worked with the group Born Jamericans, added “Modle Pon A Gal” to the mix. Other strong tracks included “Man Haffi Come Home” by Tifa and “Gi Mi” by Versatile. The instrumental “Mix Up Riddim” version let DJs and fans enjoy the pure beat. Mixing board king ZJ Chrome, running CR203 Productions, was the force behind this release. ZJ Chrome is known for shaping many dancehall hits and for his sharp ear as a selector and producer. This mix set captured the real sound of yard music in 2011, blending different voices into one strong, unforgettable dancehall moment.
