H2O Productions pushed Man Fi Dead Riddim out in 2006 under the H2O name, with Craig “Daseca” Marsh and Michael “Liquid” Brissett tied to the production and the label work coming through Brissett’s H2O imprint. Brissett had already been building H2O since the early 2000s, and by this point the crew was comfortable pairing dancehall radio polish with hard-edged juggling energy. The riddim also turns up under the Petty Thief name in some listings, which helps place it in the wider H2O catalogue.

The rhythm has a lean, militant swing that sits squarely in mid-2000s gunman dancehall: heavy low end, clipped drum programming, and a cold, insistent pulse that leaves plenty of room for a deejay to bark over it. It feels more like sound-clash ammunition than party wallpaper, and the vocal choices match that mood.
