Journey Riddim (2021) – Blak Karpet Production

By the time Journey Riddim landed in 2021, Blak Karpet Production was already moving with a steady run of dancehall projects, and this one sits right in that pocket with eight cuts and an instrumental to close it out. Lutan Fyah’s “Trouble” and Turbulence’s “She’s a Woman” are the names that jump out first, but the whole sequence has a clear order to it, moving from 1 Dandada’s title tune through Amejah, Fyahdon, Jerimus and Loyal Flames before the producer steps back in for the bare riddim. The production keeps things tight and mid-tempo, with enough room for each voice to land without crowding the groove, which is exactly what makes the final instrumental feel like part of the story rather than an afterthought.
