BLAZZIN RIDDIM produced by BIG YARD MUSIC 2006
Blazzin Overview
In 2006, the roots reggae anthology "Blazzin Riddim" made its mark in Jamaica. The project brought together a select group of artists, each delivering their own style over a classic reggae backdrop. The riddim stayed true to traditional reggae structure, with steady drum and bass, warm guitar, and uplifting melodies. Big Yard opened the collection with "Blazzin Riddim," setting the tone for the rest of the release. Christopher Martin, already known for his strong vocals, contributed the track "Tonight." Martin rose to fame after winning the Digicel Rising Stars competition in 2005, and his smooth delivery on this riddim shows why he quickly became a favorite in reggae music. Goldenchyl delivered "Garrison Life," adding his unique voice to the anthology. Rayvon, who is well known for his 2001 hit "Angel" with Shaggy, brought a soulful touch with "How Does It Feel." Redd Foxx added energy with "Blaze The Fire," while Screechie Dan joined in with "Goodie Goodie." The project also featured a lively collaboration on "Shaggy & Rayvon Show" by Shaggy & Rayvon. Behind the scenes, the production was handled by BIG YARD MUSIC. This studio and label, founded by Robert Livingston, has played a key role in reggae and dancehall, working with stars like Shaggy and producing hits that reached international charts. Looking back, "Blazzin Riddim" carried reggae’s message forward in 2006, blending roots tradition with fresh voices. Its classic sound and strong lineup helped it stand out as a memorable moment in reggae music.
