Black Roses Riddim (2006) – Tads International

Mid-2000s roots fans got a compact little juggling here, and Tads International keeps it tight with just four cuts and a clean instrumental version riding underneath. Anthony B’s “Reggae Gone Pon Top” sets the tone with that defiant, sermon-on-the-corner energy he was so good at in that era, while “If This World Were Mine” pairs Dennis Brown and Anthony Cruz in a sweeter, more reflective lane that gives the riddim a softer edge. Sugar Minott and Ke Ke I’s “Hi Hello” adds another warm, rub-a-dub turn, so the project never feels like it’s leaning on one mood for too long. Released in 2006, it lands right in that period when small, well-placed reggae riddims were still carrying a lot of weight.
