Mr Easy

Ian Dyer was born on 1 January 1975 in Cockpit Country. He migrated from Jamaica to Brooklyn and that is where he finished his school. His early music inspirations came from Dennis Brown, Marvin Gaye and he also acknowledged the influence of Beres Hammond. His unique vocals impressed the New York based producer Barry Dread who took him to the studio. Dyer recorded a cover version of “Caravan Of Love” of the Isley Brothers.. He performed at the famous Apollo Theatre a song written by him and the keyboard player Steel Pulse, song titled “Just Be A Lady” and the crowd went wild. This resulted in a record deal with Motown Records leading to the release of his first album. Dyer toured the Us, Japan and the Caribbean alongside artists like Beres Hammond, Shinehead, Redface and Shaggy. Dyer recorded with top producers such as Dave Kelly and his voice was sought on different riddims through songs like “Mi Haffi Stop” on the Showtime Riddim, “Man Ah Say A Who” on the Rae Rae Riddim, “Funny Man” on the Joyride Riddim, “After All” on the Thunder Riddim, “Haters” on the Orgasm Riddim and other tunes. Dyer released the song “Up & Down” which featured Sean Paul on  the Two Hard Label. He recorded “Drive Me Crazy” with Jamaican top producer “Tony ‘CD’ Kelly on the Buy Out Riddim and this song has been a favorite. Dyer also released “Rain Again” which is the most popular song on the Showtime Riddim. In 1998 he had recording sessions with Beres Hammond through Harmony House Production team. In 1999 he teamed up with Hammond’s nephew Yogie on the song “You Got To Be Strong”.
