Alley Cat whose government name is Albert Richards is a reggae/dancehall recording artist and producer. With an acclaimed history as a deejay, he is best known for tracks like Why and No More Garrison.
Alley Cat was born and raised in Kingston Jamaica living in Tivoli Court. He attended Kingston College in his formative years where he harnessed his talents as a guitarist. After making traction on the local Jamaican scene with tracks like Bruk Out, All You Got and Party Spree, Alley Cat travelled to North America and Europe where he performed at various concerts and perfected his productions in the studio. He then went on to set up his own production label calling it Imperial Records. Since his return in 2003, he has produced numerous rhythms for artists like Luciano, Lutan Fyah, Harry Toddler, Mavado and Queen Ifrica.
With three studio albums to his name, namely Imperial Level, Dancehall Knowledge Vol 1 and Dancehall Knowledge Vol 2 he has cemented his name in dancehall echelons. With numerous hit singles, DJ Albert ‘Alley Cat’ Richards continues to stay relevant and is refusing to be a forgotten name in the game.
