Anti Racism Riddim – Giddimani Records

Perfect Giddimani has long treated his own label as more than a vanity imprint, and Anti Racism Riddim is one of the clearest examples of that approach. Released March 30, 2018 on Giddimani Records with House of Riddim, the juggling pairs a modern one-drop backbone with clean synth accents, bright horn lines, and a bassline that keeps moving forward with purpose. It is conscious reggae with enough lift to feel hopeful rather than heavy.

The lineup is deep and international: Black Prophet from Ghana, Chezidek, Jahdan Blakkamoore, King Mas, Lutan Fyah, Menny More, Phil Watkis, Randy Valentine, Rob Symeonn, Takana Zion, Teacha Dee, Young Shanty, and Perfect Giddimani himself, plus an additional anti-racism cut with Allepo. That breadth gives the project range without losing its central message. Black Prophet’s Good Neighbors brings a soulful, rootsy warmth, while Chezidek’s Greedy Politician pushes the political angle with his familiar firebrand delivery. Jahdan Blakkamoore’s Why Lie is sharper and more conversational, and Lutan Fyah’s From The Dust gives the riddim one of its most moving moments, tying history, Africa, and uplift into a strong roots statement.

The standout is Randy Valentine’s Anti-Racist, especially in the Rosa Parks mix, where the arrangement opens out before dropping back into the groove. Perfect Giddimani’s End To Racism and Rob Symeonn’s One Day keep the message direct, and Takana Zion, Teacha Dee, and Young Shanty add further weight. It is a serious roots project that plays like a full statement, not just a stack of tunes.
