Umoja Riddim from VAS Productions arrived in 2018 as a rootsy, message-driven reggae juggling with a clean modern finish. VAS Productions is a Miami-based outfit headed by Ricardo “Vas” and has become a familiar name in recent years through work that bridges Jamaican vocals with a polished international presentation. This one sits comfortably in that catalogue: a title that points to unity, a rhythm that keeps the pressure steady, and a cast that reads like a cross-section of conscious reggae voices.

The riddim runs at a medium-one-drop pace, with a warm bassline, crisp drums and enough space for the singers to stretch out their phrasing. It has that late-2010s reggae balance of live-feeling instrumentation and digital clarity, so the cuts land with drive without sounding hurried. The instrumental version also helps underline the arrangement, letting the groove breathe on its own.

Anthony B’s “Good Times” brings his familiar uplift and direct chant style, while Sizzla Kalonji’s “Progress” gives the project its sharpest forward-looking push. Marlon Asher’s “Live On” fits naturally into his roots-and-reality lane, and Pressure Buss Pipe’s “Girls and Grades” adds a looser, more playful angle without breaking the mood.
