ANTI-CHRIST RIDDIM produced by SOUL FACE RECORDS 1995
Anti-Christ Overview
Back in 1995, dancehall music was loud on the streets and in the dance. One sound that really set the vibe was the Anti-Christ riddim, coming from SOUL FACE RECORDS. This label was known for bringing out strong dancehall tracks, and their work was always ready for big parties and festivals. SOUL FACE RECORDS also put out “Version” on this project, showing their skill at building the perfect base for top artists. Captain Barkey made a big mark with “Antichrist Pt 2.” He was already known for his witty lyrics and energy, and this track kept his name hot in the dancehall scene. Mad Cobra added even more fire with “Big Piece A Lumber.” Fans remember Mad Cobra for his hit “Flex,” which topped charts and made him a big name worldwide. Paco General’s “Hell Know” brought a raw street feel, keeping the riddim tough and real. Sister Charmaine & Squidley joined forces on “Trust.” Sister Charmaine was one of the few female voices in early dancehall, known for her fast chatting style and sharp lyrics. In 1995, this bashment project from SOUL FACE RECORDS made sure dancehall stayed lively. Each artist brought their own style, and the riddim’s energy kept people coming back for more. It was a true street anthem of its time.
